REZN - Cycles in the Infinite Dream Tour

Heavy psych asks for patience in a way that heavy music usually does not. The riffs arrive slowly, repeat past the point where a metal band would move on, and get gradually buried under reverb until the whole thing stops sounding like a band and starts sounding like weather in a small room. Done badly it is sludge with delusions. Done well, which is the case here, it produces the specific trance that the people who seek this music out are actually after, and they will tell you afterwards in physical rather than musical terms. A small San Diego room at an early hour is an unglamorous container for something this enveloping, and the contrast works in its favour. Earplugs are sensible and nobody will think less of you for them. What you are going for is the twenty minutes somewhere in the middle where you lose track of which song is playing.
