Wednesday is the night the schedule stops doing anybody any favours. No weekend to lean on, no holiday to borrow from, nothing to make the evening easier - which leaves a room full of people who are here because they specifically wanted to be, and that is a better crowd than a full one. Seattle brings a following that is still, several seasons in, visibly thrilled to have a team at all, and that enthusiasm survives a long flight remarkably well. Late February means the standings have become urgent, so a midweek division game carries far more than its fixture-list weight. Get a seat in the corner rather than centre ice if you are choosing on price. The angle is better for watching how a team sets up behind its own net, which is where most of a tight February hockey game is actually decided. It is also the cheapest division game left on the calendar, which will not be true again until next October.
