Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks

No other away end in this league announces itself from the concourse. You hear them before you see them, somewhere between the escalators and your section, and by tip-off a visible fraction of the lower bowl is wearing blue and orange and has flown five hours to be outnumbered and enjoy it enormously. New York supporters travel in a way that makes a March Thursday feel like an event the schedule never intended. The home crowd responds in kind, which is the entire point. March is also when the building starts watching the out-of-town scoreboard as closely as the floor. Get there early enough to watch the away section fill, because it is genuinely one of the better pieces of theatre on the calendar and it happens before the game starts. The practical note is to buy ahead rather than on the day; visiting demand for this fixture firms the resale market up in the final week instead of softening it the way most March games do.
