By December the novelty of the newest building in the league has finally worn off, and what is left underneath it is just a very good place to watch basketball. The sightlines are better than anywhere else in the city, the concourse lets you keep the floor in view while you queue, and the whole thing was designed by people who had clearly spent a lot of time being annoyed in older arenas. Minnesota are a physical, awkward opponent who make for a grinding sort of game. A Wednesday in early December is about as low-key as the calendar gets. Come to an ordinary night rather than an event, because the building is at its best when nobody is treating it as a destination and you can actually move around in it. Prices in the first week of December are the softest they will be until the new year, because the city's attention is comprehensively elsewhere.
