One Piece Card Game Night at On-Board Gaming - Escondido

You have tried to explain to somebody why a cartoon about a boy in a straw hat made you cry, and you watched their face do the thing where they decide to be kind about it. A thousand-plus chapters is not a hobby. It is a quarter of your life spent with the same crew, and the only people who can hold that with you are the ones who also know exactly which chapter you mean without being told. On Thursday nights, in a strip-mall game store off Mission Avenue, those people sit down across from each other and argue it out with cards. The decks are arguments about who the story really belongs to - somebody always builds the crew nobody respects and wins the whole night with it. Play starts at 7, right after Riftbound clears the tables at 6:30, so the room is already loud by the time you walk in. That overlap is the actual reason to come early: here the competitive card crowd and the anime crowd are the same people, and they are not the same people anywhere else in the county. The shop is at 316 W Mission Ave, suite 117. Bring a deck or borrow one - somebody always has a spare.
