Allegiant Stadium, 3333 Al Davis W…
Walk the Strip the night before and you can tell exactly who is in town by what everybody is wearing. This weekend it will be blue and red and there will be an unreasonable amount of it. Bills Mafia does not travel quietly. They arrive in numbers that embarrass most home crowds, they bring folding tables for reasons that require no explanation to anyone who has seen it once, and by the time the gates crack at Allegiant Stadium the lots have stopped being a parking lot and become something closer to a travelling festival that happens to have a football game attached. You can resent that or you can admit the obvious: it is one of the two or three best atmospheres a home crowd will be handed all season, and the only honest answer to it is to be louder. Western New York in the Mojave is a genuinely strange collision, and most of the people who made the trip have been saving for it since May. Buffalo lands on Sunday, October 18, a 1:25 start. Go for the lots as much as the game. The tables are not a rumour.

Four hours up the 15 and the makeup of the building changes. This is the weekend Southern California drives out, the one that gets bought as a single package, a Saturday night and a Sunday afternoon, where the caravan leaves Ontario before sunrise and somebody has a cousin with a spare room in a hotel nobody would otherwise book. Los Angeles carries an unusually long memory into this particular fixture. A whole generation of this fanbase was made in the Coliseum between 1982 and 1994 and simply never handed the allegiance back when the team left, which is why so much of the silver and black you pass on the freeway that morning has California plates underneath it. What actually happens at Allegiant Stadium, then, is two Southern California crowds meeting in a third city, one nominally the home team and one nominally visiting, both having driven the same road to get there, both convinced the place belongs to them. October 25, 1:25 in the afternoon. It is the most SoCal game on the schedule and it is nowhere near SoCal.

Mid-November is when a season stops being theoretical. By now you know what this team actually is rather than what the summer promised, and the people still buying tickets in week ten are a different population from the ones who bought in September: less curious, more committed, considerably more willing to tell you exactly what is wrong with the offensive line. Seattle brings its own version of that, a fanbase that spent a decade being the loudest in the sport and has never entirely stopped behaving like it, which inside a building as porous as Allegiant Stadium means another afternoon where the away section is a real problem rather than a courtesy. No primetime cameras are coming for this one and no national storyline is attached to it, just a conference game in the desert in front of people who genuinely care how it goes. A 1:05 start on November 15, the cheapest afternoon on the whole home slate, and more often than not the one you end up talking about afterwards.

Some rivalries were assembled by a television schedule. This one predates the merger. These teams have been at each other since the American Football League existed, which means the grudge is older than almost everybody in the building and has been handed down rather than chosen, usually by a father or an uncle who is still, decades on, unreasonably bitter about a specific afternoon in the 1970s. Denver travels better than almost anyone in the conference and the drive down is short enough that they arrive rested and already arguing. Four days before Christmas, with the season either alive or long since decided, you get one of the last honest division games on the calendar in front of a crowd with nothing polite left to say to each other. Allegiant Stadium, Sunday, December 20, 1:25 in the afternoon. If you have somebody in your family who still holds a grudge about this fixture, this is the year to finally take them.

Nobody flies in for the last home game of the year. That is precisely what makes it worth going to. The week between Christmas and New Year is the dead zone of the football calendar, the tourists have gone home or are too hungover to leave the hotel, resale prices sink to the lowest they will be all season, and the people who show up are the ones who were always going to show up: season-ticket holders in the same seats they have sat in since the building opened, a scattering of families using the afternoon as an excuse to leave the house, and not one person there because it is an event. There is no spectacle attached. The concourses are walkable. You can hear individual voices instead of a wall of noise, which is rarer at Allegiant Stadium than you would think. Sunday, December 27, a 1:05 start. Of all the football you can buy this year, this is the cheapest, and it is the closest the place ever gets to feeling like a neighbourhood.

You learn the sound before you learn the score. Third down, your defense on the field, and the noise that comes back up at you is the wrong colour entirely, rolling down out of the upper deck like it holds the deed to the place. Anyone who has sat through a Kansas City week at Allegiant Stadium knows that feeling and knows it is not paranoia. This building has spent its whole short life with a reputation as the best road stadium in football, and the front office has tried more than one ticket-sales restriction to keep the visiting half of it out. None of them have entirely worked. So you go early, you go loud, and you treat your own section as the assignment. Division games in the first month are the ones that quietly decide whether November still means anything, and this is the rival that has taken the most from this franchise in the last decade. Kickoff is 1:25 on Sunday, October 4. Get there early enough to be part of the reason it sounds like home.

Somewhere in this city tonight there is a back room where the pinball never stopped — machines everyone assumed died with the arcades, lined up, lit up, and played for blood by people who know each ruleset cold. You thought it was nostalgia. They kept it a sport.
Once a month the league runs a real tournament: matchplay, a new opponent and a random machine every round, points stacking across the night. It is IFPA-sanctioned, but that is not why the regulars come. A good table is the most honest machine there is. It does not care who you are, only whether you can read the ball.
Here is what outsiders never expect: this crowd wants you to get good. Show up knowing only how to keep a ball alive and someone ranked will lean over between rounds and show you where the safe nudge is, when to let it drain on purpose.
Venues rotate. Check the league's Facebook group and the IFPA calendar for this month's location. All-ages at most stops, 21+ at the bars.

Riot Games Arena, 12181 Bluff Cree…
Every region sends its dark horses, and most of them go home in the first week. That is what makes the opening stage the most nervous, least predictable stretch of the whole tournament.
The Play-In Stage is where teams that did not walk in with a guaranteed bracket spot have to earn one, on foreign soil, against opponents they have only ever studied on video. Nothing is safe and nobody is comfortable. Upsets that reshape the entire championship happen here, in front of a few hundred people, before the broadcast audience has fully tuned in.
Riot Games Arena is the tightest, loudest room in North American esports — small enough that crowd noise reaches the stage, close enough to watch a player's posture change when a fight goes wrong. From inside that building it is a different sport.
Riot Games Arena, 12181 Bluff Creek Dr, Playa Vista. October 15-18. Tickets through lolesports.com.

Los Angeles Convention Center, 120…
There are only two US Regional Championship stops this year. This is one of them.
That single fact reorganizes the whole weekend. The Regional Championship determines who qualifies for the national series, which means the room is full of people whose season comes down to these tables — and you can feel it in how quiet the top tables get.
But the weekend is built so you do not have to be one of them. Ten-dollar entry drafts, Commander brackets, and Standard opens run across all four days with no Regional-level preparation required. The dealer hall is one of the better places in Southern California to buy and trade singles, and it is worth the trip on its own.
Star City Games runs the circuit, so the operation is tight — pairings on time, judges who know the floor, side events that actually fire.
Marriott Burbank. October 9-12.
If your Magic is competitive, the only question is whether this makes the season schedule.

Various Venues — LA, Allen TX, New…
Seventy-three million people watched the last final on a screen. A few thousand got to feel the room move — and that gap is the entire reason to be in the building. The 2026 League of Legends World Championship runs October 15 through November 14 across three American cities, nineteen teams deep, and for the first time in the tournament's history the trophy gets lifted on the East Coast.
Each stage is a different sport. The Play-Ins open in Los Angeles inside Riot's own studio arena, a room tight enough that crowd noise reaches the stage and close enough to watch a player's posture change when a fight goes wrong. Allen, Texas is where the field gets cut — teams grinding through a Swiss format for eight knockout seats, afternoon after afternoon, in the least glamorous and most brutal stretch of the whole run. Brooklyn is the coronation. There is a moment in a Worlds match where a team's composition either clicks or comes apart, and the arena registers it a half-second before the casters do; you feel the shift in the crowd before you understand what happened on the map.
This is not for someone who needs the broadcast overlay to follow a teamfight. The crowd on a bracket night knows exactly what it is watching, and that shared literacy is the thing a stream cannot hand you — when an arena gasps at a ward placement, you are either in on it or you are lost. If you have put a thousand hours into this game and never once sat in a room full of people who did the same, it is worth the trip. If you follow it casually, watch the broadcast and keep the money; the ticket buys proximity, not understanding.
What people get wrong: they treat it as one event with one ticket. Sessions are sold per date, and inventory is not identical across them — the Texas dates behave nothing like the final. When general sale opened for Brooklyn, roughly 430 seats appeared and were gone within minutes, then surfaced on resale as high as 3,200 dollars against a 120-to-350 face. Every date is mobile entry only; your phone is the ticket. Bags are capped small (under 4.5 by 8.5 inches) or medium clear (under 14 by 14 by 6), and interchangeable-lens cameras, tripods, gimbals and selfie sticks are all refused at the door. Phones are fine for personal recording. Venue rules differ between Texas and Brooklyn, so read each one separately rather than assuming.
Worlds is the closest thing competitive gaming has to a national holiday, and 2026 is the year it stopped being a West Coast story. Play-Ins in Los Angeles October 15–18; Swiss Stage and the quarterfinals and semifinals at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, October 23 through November 8; the final at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14. Tickets through Ticketmaster via lolesports.com. Whichever city you pick, you will spend the rest of the season arguing about what you saw with people who were not there.

Feb 14, 2027

SoFi Stadium, 1001 Stadium Drive, …
The Super Bowl has come to Los Angeles before. It has never come to SoFi. That changes February 7, 2027 — at the half-billion-dollar stadium that opened in 2020 and changed what a modern NFL venue can look like: translucent canopy, open-air California design, Hollywood Park campus surrounding it.
What Super Bowl week in Los Angeles looks and feels like is unlike any other sporting event on the calendar. The week before the game, Radio Row draws every media personality with a microphone. The NFL Experience fan festival opens to the public at the Convention Center. Celebrity parties are announced and cancelled and announced again. The halftime show rehearsals happen under tight security at the stadium while the surrounding streets fill with brand activations, pop-ups, and spontaneous gatherings of fans who couldn't get tickets but wanted to be near the thing. Los Angeles absorbs the Super Bowl differently than Nashville or Minneapolis — the entertainment industry and sports culture overlap here in a way that produces genuine energy rather than manufactured excitement.
Is the Super Bowl worth attending in person? If you have the means and the access, the answer is yes, but the experience is as much about the week as the game. Super Bowl tickets are among the most expensive in sports, and the seat you occupy at game time may matter less than the four days of surrounding events, parties, and city energy that build toward kickoff. For the majority of people who will experience Super Bowl LXI from Los Angeles without attending the game, the city itself becomes a venue. Watch parties at venues across SoCal will be among the most concentrated social events of the year.
What to know: Tickets sell through the NFL and Ticketmaster — secondary market prices will be extreme. The SoFi Stadium campus includes a performance venue (YouTube Theater), a casino (Inglewood), and hotel development in progress; the entertainment zone around the stadium is walkable and dense. Metro's C Line (Green) stops at Hawthorne/Lennox, about a 20-minute walk from SoFi. Parking is limited and expensive; transit from LAX is the recommended option for most attendees. The week's best experiences are often free — Radio Row, fan zones, and the energy of the city.
Super Bowl LXI matters for one reason beyond the game itself: it is the largest single-day American cultural event, and in 2027 it comes to Los Angeles. The convergence of the NFL, Hollywood, the music industry (halftime show), and the national media in one city for one weekend creates a cultural moment that extends far beyond the game. Knowing about it, knowing what week to plan around it, knowing the venue and the city — that is the preparation that turns an ordinary February into the right February.

Every other Tuesday· Next Oct 20
950 E 3rd St #1A, Los Angeles, CA …
The fighting game community does not care how long you have been playing. It cares whether you play. Down Back Tuesdays runs on that principle — a biweekly bracket at a brewery in the Arts District where Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Skullgirls share floor space with people who came to actually compete.
This is not a watch party. This is the version of esports where the person you just lost to can immediately explain what went wrong and then challenge you to a rematch. Amateur brackets run alongside the main event — first-timers are expected, not tolerated. The venue is Arrow Lodge Brewing in downtown Los Angeles's Arts District, which means the skill ceiling and the beer selection are both higher than you would expect from a Tuesday night.
Doors open at 6pm for casuals. Tournament brackets start at 7pm. Entry is five dollars per game plus a fifteen dollar venue fee at the door. Runs every other Tuesday through the year. 950 E 3rd St, Los Angeles.
