GameSync Monthly Open Tournament — October 2026
Oct 31, 2026 $10 GameSync San Diego, 2860 Main St, …

GameSync San Diego, 2860 Main St. October 31st. $10. The GameSync Monthly Open on Halloween — the competitive gaming tournament that lands on the one night of the year where showing up in costume to play a bracket is not only acceptable but actively encouraged by everyone around you. The Monthly Open runs across the titles the community has been playing that month — fighting games, platform fighters, card games, whatever has been the competitive conversation in October. The fall circuit is when the year's arc comes into focus: the summer regionals are over, the winter majors are approaching, and the players who have been grinding all year use fall monthlies to sharpen what's left. The Halloween timing adds a costume layer that makes the whole evening distinctly GameSync. $10 at the door. October 31st at GameSync, 2860 Main St. gamesync.us for the bracket format and title list. The October crowd is the crowd that has been coming all year. The Halloween crowd adds a visual energy that turns the tournament into something you'll still be describing in November. Come to play. Come in costume. Do both.

SD Night Market — October Edition
Oct 31, 2026 Free Waterfront Park, 1600 Pacific Hwy,…

Waterfront Park, 1600 Pacific Hwy, San Diego. October 31st. Free. The SD Night Market on Halloween is the version of this event that puts the vendor rows and the street food and the waterfront setting underneath a city-wide costume night — the most photographed, most food-dense, most visually strange version of the Night Market all year. Halloween at the Night Market means the crowd is in costume. The food vendors are still the same — the Filipino bowls, the Korean street food, the Japanese snacks, the handmade goods — but the context is different. Walking past a ramen stall while someone in a full monster costume debates the menu with someone in a historical gown is the specific experience of San Diego doing its own version of Halloween. Free entry. October 31st. sdnightmarket.com for vendor lineup and layout. Arrive before 7 to find a spot at the bay-side tables before they fill. Bring cash if you have it — not every vendor takes cards. The Night Market runs until the evening, which on Halloween means the city lights and the costume energy are both at full volume by the time you leave.

San Diego Food and Wine Festival 2026
Nov 4 – Nov 8, 2026 San Diego Bay Waterfront, San Dieg…

The San Diego Food and Wine Festival returns November 4–8, 2026 with its signature Grand Tasting Weekend November 6–8 along San Diego Bay. One of the most respected culinary events in the American West, this festival brings together over 300 chefs and tastemakers, 200-plus wineries, breweries, and spirit producers, and 80-plus chefs from West Coast and Baja California kitchens for five days of dinners, panels, and headline tasting events. The Grand Tasting Weekend is the centerpiece — an open-format outdoor tasting event on the waterfront with San Diego Bay and the downtown skyline as the backdrop. Attendees circulate between dozens of stations representing wine regions, culinary traditions, and craft beverage producers. The Baja California connection is uniquely San Diego: Valle de Guadalupe winemakers and Ensenada chefs participate in ways you will not find at any other American food festival. Pre-festival dinners run November 4–5 at restaurants throughout the county. The Grand Tasting Weekend is ticketed separately from intimate dinner events. Early ticket purchase is strongly recommended — Grand Tasting sessions sell out weeks in advance. Downtown San Diego and the Little Italy neighborhood are walkable from main event venues.

The belief behind D&D Adventurers League is that you should not need a standing group, a three-month campaign commitment, or six people with matching schedules to play Dungeons and Dragons. Organized play fixes that: you show up, you play, you leave with a complete story. Same time next week if you want it. Or not. The table runs either way. Game Empire SD hosts a weekly Adventurers League session every Thursday in Miramar. Drop-in format -- bring a character or use a provided sheet. The module is self-contained within the session, which means new players can join without missing anything from previous weeks. DMs are part of the AL infrastructure, not your friends doing you a favor. The crowd at a weekly AL session is not the home-campaign crowd. It is people who want the game without the overhead. Experienced players who moved to a new city. New players who do not know where to start. People who loved D and D once and fell out of a campaign years ago. The open table is where all of them end up. Rules questions welcome. Dice provided. All official AL character classes and races allowed. Walk in, walk out with a story. Address: 7052 Miramar Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. Every Thursday evening. Check Game Empire SD on social or at gameempire.com for the current module and exact start time.

The San Diego Food and Wine Festival returns for three nights of coastal culinary celebration in November 2026, making it the marquee food and wine event on San Diego's fall calendar. Night one brings Icons and Legends: celebrity chefs, award-winning wines, and the kind of access you cannot get at a typical restaurant. Night two is the Grand Event featuring 200-plus wineries, breweries, and spirit producers alongside live music and bites from San Diego's top chefs. Night three is the Grand Fiesta, a cross-border culinary celebration bringing together the best of Tijuana, Baja California, and San Diego food scenes in one waterfront venue. The Chef of the Festival competition runs across all three nights with attendee votes determining the winner. Past festivals have attracted national food media and James Beard honorees. Venue is at a waterfront location in San Diego — check sandiegowineclassic.com for exact location and ticket information as the event approaches. Dress for a coastal November evening. Nov 6, 2026 AleSmith Brewing Co., 9990 AleSmit…

AleSmith built its reputation on world-class craft ales and a taproom worth visiting on its own terms -- fire pits, ax throwing, golf simulators, a genuinely generous outdoor space. The Sustainable Night Market is what happens when 20-plus vendors who actually care about what they sell show up in that space every first Friday of the month. The belief behind it: a curated eco-conscious market inside a serious brewery is a Friday night worth choosing, not settling for. The vendors are vetted for actual sustainability practices -- zero-waste food, organic and locally sourced products, refillable goods, sustainable fashion with transparent supply chains. Not the performative kind. The kind where the vendor can tell you exactly where it came from. What to expect: the AleSmith full lineup of ales and lagers on tap, the outdoor areas lit up with fire pits, vendors arranged through the space where you can move at your own pace. The crowd that shows up is the actual eco-conscious San Diego community -- people who shop with intention and want the same from a Friday night out. Free to enter. Buy a beer if you want one. First Friday of every month, evening hours. Address: AleSmith Brewing Co., 9990 AleSmith Ct, San Diego, CA 92126 (Miramar area). Check @alesmith or alesmith.com for vendor announcements each month.

Dizzy's Jazz — November 6
Nov 6 – Nov 7, 2026 Dizzy's Jazz Club, 1717 Morena Blv…

Dizzy's is San Diego's essential small-room jazz venue — a listening room run by musicians for musicians and their audiences, operating out of a community arts space in Bay Park. Dizzy's books the working jazz community: local artists, touring musicians who want a real room, and the occasional special event that brings the entire scene together. This is not a slick jazz supper club with dinner service and a dress code. Dizzy's is a music room where the listening is serious and the drinks are secondary to the performance. The audience comes because they love jazz, which makes the room different from a bar that happens to book jazz occasionally. The performers play differently when the audience is really listening. Shows at Dizzy's are irregular — they book specific performances rather than running a weekly format — which means each show is its own event rather than an episode in a series. The capacity is small, the sight lines are good, and the acoustics are appropriate for the music. Tickets are modest and available in advance at dizzysjazz.com. Dizzy's Jazz Club, 1717 Morena Blvd, San Diego, CA 92110. Bay Park neighborhood, inside Arias Hall behind the Musicians' Association building. Show times and ticket prices vary by event. Check dizzysjazz.com for the current schedule. Street parking on Morena Blvd. The venue is a listening room — arrive on time, phones down during performance.

San Diego Beer Week 2026 (17th Annual)
Nov 7 – Nov 15, 2026 Varies by event — see sdbw.org Various venues across San Diego, C…

San Diego Beer Week returns for its 17th annual celebration of one of the most important craft beer scenes in the United States. Running for ten days in November, Beer Week is not a single event but a city-wide festival: hundreds of participating bars, breweries, and restaurants in San Diego County host special tapping events, rare beer releases, pairings, tours, and tastings throughout the run. San Diego has more craft breweries per capita than any major US city, and Beer Week is the annual moment when the entire industry comes together to celebrate that identity. New breweries debut their first taproom events during Beer Week. Legacy breweries like AleSmith, Stone, Ballast Point, and Green Flash release limited-edition bottles. Collaboration beers brewed specifically for Beer Week appear at participating locations. The opening ceremony festival traditionally anchors the start of Beer Week with a gathering of over 100 breweries and thousands of beer enthusiasts. Check sdbw.org for the full event calendar as it is released. Individual events are spread across North County, downtown San Diego, East County, and South Bay. A wristband or per-event ticket format varies by venue. Most ticketed events are under $40. This is the signature event for San Diego beer culture and one of the most respected beer weeks in the country.

Artificer San Diego exists because the people who run it believe that competitive Friday Night Magic belongs in a shop that takes the game seriously. Not a corner of a box store, not a back room of a hobby shop that stocks cards as an afterthought -- a dedicated venue where the Standard rotation matters, the draft tables are set up by the time the doors open, and the regulars know each other by deck archetype before they know each other by name. FNM at Artificer runs every Friday evening. Draft format is available -- bring your own deck or crack packs into a pod from scratch. Standard and Commander also run on rotation. All skill levels are welcome. The crowd ranges from players who have been in since Alpha to people who built their first deck last month. Both show up. Both find a table. What makes Artificer different from a casual kitchen table night is the floor staff knows the game. Rules questions get a real answer. Format changes get discussed, not Googled mid-match. The tournament software runs correctly. The shop is a community hub that happens to sell cards, not a retail operation that happens to host events. The field is real, the competition is honest, and the regulars are the kind of people who remember what you played last week. Nov 7, 2026 9449 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92108

The MLS regular season closes at Snapdragon Stadium on November 7 when San Diego FC host Sporting Kansas City in the final home match of the 2026 campaign. By the first weekend of November, the Western Conference bracket is locked and what remains is the last opportunity for home supporters to see their club before the playoff journey begins. Sporting KC, one of MLS's most historically significant clubs, arrives as a regular-season opponent with their own playoff aspirations intact or already resolved. But the narrative at Snapdragon belongs to San Diego FC: the close of a second season, a city that committed to this club from the first match, and a group of players who have spent 34 home and away matches building toward the postseason. The last regular-season home match at any club carries a specific weight — finality mixed with anticipation, the regular season exhaust cleared to reveal what the real season has been preparing for. November 7 at Snapdragon is the goodbye before the real thing begins.

Nov 13 – Nov 15, 2026 DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Die…

San Diego Anime Con returns for its fourth year November 13-15, 2026 at the DoubleTree Mission Valley — three days of anime culture built at human scale, 50-plus vendors, 50-plus artists, and an atmosphere that feels more like a community gathering than a production. The conventions that endure are rarely the biggest ones. They're the ones where the regulars know each other, where the artists in Artist Alley remember your face from last year, where the panels are small enough to actually ask a question. San Diego Anime Con has built that culture quietly over four years. The DoubleTree keeps it contained in a way that works: the hotel layout creates natural gathering spots, the bar fills up with cosplayers after panel hours, and the whole thing has the energy of a convention that hasn't forgotten why people go to conventions. Tickets at sandiegoanimecon.com. Three-day badges are the move — Saturday is the peak, Sunday is the farewell circuit. Free parking at the DoubleTree. Mission Valley is accessible from anywhere in San Diego. Come in costume or don't. Both are welcome here.

Nov 18 – Nov 22, 2026 Embarcadero, Harbor Dr, San Diego,…

The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival transforms the waterfront embarcadero in downtown San Diego for five days in November 2026, establishing itself as one of the premier culinary events on the West Coast and the social centerpiece of San Diego's food and beverage community's annual calendar. The festival spans multiple ticketed events across the week, culminating in the Grand Tasting event on the Embarcadero waterfront on Saturday and Sunday. The Grand Tasting draws hundreds of wineries, breweries, spirits producers, and food vendors for a general admission tasting format where badge holders sample from all participating vendors over several hours. The event is effectively a curated marketplace for every quality food and beverage producer who wants access to the San Diego market's affluent, engaged consumer base. Signature dinners throughout the week pair local San Diego chefs with specific winery or producer partners in seated, ticketed dinner formats at restaurants and venues throughout the city. These dinners are more intimate than the Grand Tasting and give attendees direct access to chefs and winemakers in conversation format. The Embarcadero is located along Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego, immediately walkable from the Gaslamp Quarter and accessible via Trolley (Waterfront Station). The Grand Tasting is ticketed; individual session tickets are available for specific dinners and events throughout the week. This is not a budget event — tickets reflect the production quality and caliber of participating producers.
