Abbot Kinney Festival

A street you love can change without you. Abbot Kinney lost its festival in 2024, lost it again in 2025, and the block kept getting more expensive in the meantime — which is exactly why the people who have been here longest are treating its return as a verdict. For one free afternoon the entire mile closes to cars and opens to everything else. Three hundred and fifty vendors. The food trucks of a city that takes food trucks unreasonably seriously. Music stages, beer gardens, kids rides and a whole KidsQuad stage, and the particular Venice mix of artists and skaters and families pouring onto the same stretch of pavement at once. Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, on the last Sunday of September, free to walk in. Go with somebody who remembers the old version of this street. Let them tell you what used to be in every storefront, and let them be a little bit right.
