Waving Through a Window became an anthem for a whole generation of anxious, lonely kids, and the musical it comes from turned the ache of not being seen into one of the most emotionally devastating shows Broadway has produced this century. Dear Evan Hansen follows a boy whose small lie spirals into a connection he desperately needed and never earned, and it lands hardest on anyone who has ever felt invisible at their own lunch table. McCoy Rigby stages it at La Mirada Theatre October 30 through November 22, 2026. Bring tissues, bring the teenager in your life, bring the version of yourself that needed to hear these songs at seventeen. This is theater that wrecks you and mends you in the same breath, performed close enough to feel every note. You will not leave unchanged.
