Soft Vein is Justin Chamberlain's project, formed in 2022, and it has grown a genuine cult in the LA darkwave scene — the kind of following that is small enough to recognise faces and big enough to sell out rooms like this. The sound sits where darkwave, industrial, EBM and electro-pop overlap, which in practice means it is sad and you can dance to it, the two things that scene has always insisted are the same thing.
Orange County gets treated as the place without an underground. The people who actually go out here know better, and they have known for years.
