Hollywood Park Lot A, 3900 W Centu…
Half the fun is the arithmetic you run standing over a milk crate — is this a dealer who knows exactly what they have, or somebody clearing out a garage who has no idea. In a lot this size you get both, in the same aisle, on the same morning.
Hundreds of vendors spread across the asphalt in the shadow of the stadium: vinyl, mid-century furniture, Levi's with the right stitching, sports memorabilia, film props, and objects that resist classification entirely. You can cover every row and still walk out certain you missed half of it. The early crowd is serious about this — the resellers and the collectors are through the gate before the rest of the city has finished its coffee.
Monthly Saturdays in Lot A off Century Boulevard in Inglewood, small cash admission at the gate, and the K Line runs close enough to walk.
Go early, and take the friend who cannot pass a record bin without stopping.

3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego,…
The good stuff is gone before noon and everyone who comes regularly knows it, which is why the early aisles are full of people moving with purpose and coffee.
A stadium parking lot becomes something else entirely on the weekend. Rows of tables under pop-ups, a man who sells nothing but sockets, a woman running more houseplants than a nursery, crates of records that clearly came out of somebody's actual life, and a vintage rack a dealer drove down from Los Angeles to work. It has been running for over fifty years, long enough that regulars know which vendor is worth circling back to and which one always overprices the same lamp.
Sports Arena Boulevard, Saturdays and Sundays, a few dollars at the gate.
Go with the friend who insists they need nothing. Time how long it takes them to start negotiating.

Rose Bowl Stadium, 1001 Rose Bowl …
Nobody leaves with the thing they came for. You go looking for a lamp and come home with deadstock denim, a stack of vinyl, and an object that has no category but is clearly yours. That is what twenty-five hundred vendors on a stadium lot do to a person. Stylists, collectors and vintage hunters have been circling the second Sunday of the month since 1967, and the mix reads like everything Los Angeles has ever absorbed — Japanese streetwear beside 1970s Americana, mid-century furniture next to handmade jewelry, band tees, housewares, art prints. The quality ceiling runs higher than most dedicated vintage markets, because at that vendor count the best of it rises to the top. Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, second Sunday of every month, general admission from 9am and early birds in at 7:30 for first pass. Go with the person who will hold your spot while you double back for the thing you talked yourself out of.

Fairfax High School, 7850 Melrose …
You can tell the regulars from the tourists in about four seconds. The regulars walk straight past the first two rows, because they already know which dealer got a delivery this week and they did not come to browse.
That is what a market holding the same high school parking lot since 1995 builds. Sellers come back every week. Buyers come back every week. All that repetition turns a swap meet into a neighborhood ritual. Quality is honestly uneven — the hunt is the point — but the crowd is constant: creative, unhurried, unmistakably Los Angeles. Vintage denim, records, furniture somebody refinished by hand, art from people who will happily talk to you about it.
Sundays, year-round, in the Fairfax High lot on Melrose, with a small admission at the gate that goes back to the school's programs.
Bring the friend who claims they never find anything at these. Then watch how long it takes to get them to leave.

Voltaire Street, Ocean Beach, San …
Voltaire Street shuts down to cars and opens up to something better — a four-block pedestrian stretch in Ocean Beach where the dogs outnumber the humans and nobody minds.
Day of the Dog is the kind of event that could only exist in a neighborhood where the sidewalk regulars already know each other's dogs by name. From Cable to Bacon, the street fills with French bulldog races (serious to the owners, hilarious to everyone else), Corgi sprints, wiener dog dashes, a Dogue Fashion Show that should be absurd but somehow isn't, and a Best In Show showcase where the treat prizes matter more than anyone will admit. There's a 100-foot art installation down the middle of the block, a foam party zone where the dogs lose their minds, and dog blessings for the ones who need a little extra grace.
The humans get food trucks, local vendors, and the particular pleasure of watching a neighborhood that already loves its dogs spend an afternoon proving it. No pretense that this is anything other than what it is: a community that built a festival around the thing it was already doing every morning on every corner.

Pierce College, Mason Avenue Parki…
Fourteen years is how long one buyer has been hunting one specific Bakelite something, and he will be back this month working the rows in order, because the entire hobby runs on the belief that somebody, somewhere, has the thing.
Once a month the Pierce College lot fills with about a hundred and seventy dealers and the people who hunt them. Mid-century furniture. Denim with exactly the right wear. Costume jewelry, oddball signage, instruments somebody loved and somebody else is about to. The early crowd arrives at seven for first pick; the later crowd comes to talk to the dealers, which is its own reason to go. Parking is free, cash and Venmo both work, and after a few months the buyers half-know each other.
Fourth Sunday of the month, out in Woodland Hills.
The thing you cannot find online is exactly what the fourth Sunday is for.

Old Town Temecula, 28690 Front St,…
Old Town Temecula hosts its monthly vintage and makers market along Front Street -- local dealers bringing curated vintage clothing, jewelry, ceramics, plants, and handmade goods to the brick-lined blocks that are already one of the better walking streets in Inland Southern California. The May 23, 2026 edition opens at 9:00 AM and runs through the afternoon.
The wine country crowd mixes with the vintage hunters; the combination makes for a morning that reliably turns into an afternoon. Front Street in Old Town Temecula is a genuine discovery walk even before the market sets up -- historic storefronts, wine tasting rooms, and local restaurants make it easy to turn a market visit into a full day.
Admission is free to browse. Bring cash for the dealers who do not run Square -- vintage markets at this scale typically have a mix of card and cash-only vendors. The market is located at 28690 Front Street, Temecula, CA 92590. Parking is available along Front Street and in surrounding lots. Old Town is also walkable from several downtown Temecula hotels.

The bass drops before you clear the entrance. Not a sound system warming up — the DJ is already three tracks deep into an Afrobeats set that turns heads from the fountain to the steps, and the crowd is moving the way a crowd moves when the music isn't background. It's the floor.
NAIJA Fest is the largest Nigerian Independence Day celebration in the United States, and it lives at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles — free and open to everyone, because that's the only way to throw a party that sounds like home for people whose home is an ocean away. Mr. P and King Kanja headline. The food stalls run suya and jollof and puff puff in volumes that mean the line is long and nobody minds.
This isn't a concert with a culture theme. It's a culture with a concert inside it. The fashion show is real fashion — Lagos and Accra designers whose clothes move differently under California light. And the crowd is the point: diaspora and curious and everyone in between, celebrating an independence that belongs to a country but resonates with anyone who has ever felt far from the place that made them.

Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect P…
Every person in attendance looks like they have been waiting their whole life to wear this exact outfit. That is the first thing you notice, before a single note plays. AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2026 ran two days at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park — Jazmine Sullivan, Flying Lotus, Joey Bada$$, Vince Staples and Baby Tate across a weekend built by and for the artists, organizers and culture makers who refuse to be sorted into one category. Founded in 2005 as an answer to the whitewashing of punk and rock spaces, AFROPUNK has become the defining gathering of Black alternative culture in America.
The moment you are inside, you understand this is not a music festival in the ordinary sense. It is a fashion show, a protest, a family reunion and a concert happening at once inside one park. Sets move between neo-soul, hip-hop, punk, afrobeats and club music, sometimes inside a single performance. The Spinthrift Market carries independent Black designers and makers. Bites n Beats brings in some of the best street food in New York. Activism Row hands a whole section over to live muralists and community organizing, and people genuinely stop and read it.
If you have ever felt like you sit at the intersection of too many things to be claimed by any one scene, this was built for you. It is not for anyone who wants a frictionless corporate festival. The Bandshell is a small room by festival standards — roughly two thousand seats in the plaza and about five thousand more on the surrounding lawn — and that scale is doing real work. You are close enough to read what everyone chose to put on, which at AFROPUNK is half the reason to come.
Arrive early. The plaza fills first, lawn sightlines go quickly, and by around 3pm the ground between the stage and the concession row stops moving in any direction. Check your train before you leave — Prospect Park's entrances sit far apart, and picking the wrong one adds twenty minutes on foot. Clear bags only. Free water stations run through the grounds, so an empty bottle is worth more than a full one.
Twenty years on, this is the rare weekend that hip-hop, punk, jazz, fashion and organizing all claim as their own, and it has spawned editions in Atlanta, Paris and Johannesburg. The people who were there spend the rest of the year chasing that feeling somewhere else, and telling each other where they found it.

The alarm goes off before dawn and you do not hit snooze. That is how you know it is swap meet day.
By first light the lots are already moving — vendors laying parts and signs and memorabilia across folding tables, and the people with flashlights and cash working the rows before the sun clears the arena. Whatever gets found in that first hour is what everybody else spends the rest of the day asking about.
This is not a concours. It is a parking lot full of people who speak the same language: carburetors, matching numbers, barn finds, the one that got away. Classic trucks beside lowriders beside a Camaro somebody drove down from Riverside to show what two winters in a garage produced.
Walk the rows and listen to the owners; it is the best accidental education in automotive history available anywhere. Cash is king at the swap tables — the good stuff does not wait for Venmo.
Go early. Come home with something you did not know you needed.

Sam First, 6171 W Century Blvd, Lo…
Fifty-five seats, no bad ones, close enough that you hear the breath before the note. Musicians fly into LAX and play the same night because the room is five minutes from the airport, so the bill on any given evening might include the touring player who happened to have a day off. Sam First is that rare thing -- a jazz club built for the acoustic intimacy of a New York room, dropped a few minutes from the runway in Inglewood.
The booking philosophy is simple and unbending: working jazz musicians playing standards and originals at a level that the city's own working jazz musicians show up to watch. Two sets nightly, Tuesday through Saturday, at seven-thirty and nine-thirty. Wednesday is Hump Day -- reduced cover, same booking, same room. The crowd is the LA jazz community plus whatever visiting players are in town with the night free.
This is the show you drag the friend to who says they don't get jazz -- fifty-five seats will fix that. Twenty dollars Wednesday cover; drinks separately.

Spring Studios + various Manhattan…
You do not need a ticket to a single show to feel it - just be in New York the right week in September and the whole city shifts into a higher, more charged register, with an unusual density of people who care deeply about what they wear and why. For one week, New York decides what fashion looks like for the next year. New York Fashion Week runs twice annually, and the September edition is the one that sets the agenda. For most people it is watched rather than directly attended: the front rows are invitation-only for press and buyers. But that is precisely what makes it interesting - NYFW is one of the rare events in American culture where a week of genuine industry decision-making, determining what clothing will look and cost for the next year, plays out in public view. The street style outside venues is photographed and published globally within minutes. Brand installations open to the public pop up in SoHo, the Meatpacking District, and Brooklyn. If you are traveling specifically for NYFW, the public-facing events are real and growing; designers increasingly create at least one publicly accessible moment. Go for the atmosphere and opportunistic public access, not guaranteed show entry. NYFW runs across venues throughout Manhattan - Spring Studios (38 Spring St, the preferred venue in recent years), the Javits Center, Lincoln Center, and dozens of satellite locations in SoHo, Chelsea, and Brooklyn. The public schedule is published by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and updated through the week. Street style photography concentrates outside major venues in the mornings. Hotel rates in early September are high, so book 60+ days out. The shows run from 9am through 8pm across venues that are not centrally located. The September collections determine what next spring looks like - the colors, silhouettes, and cultural references that get absorbed into mainstream fashion for the next 12 months - and that conversation happens publicly. The people who follow it, even from a distance, are participating in a shared exercise in how culture chooses to dress itself. September in New York.

Long Beach Convention Center, 300 …
The biggest booth on the floor is almost never where the conversation is. It is the small table in the corner, a brand on its second or third season, somebody who still has something to prove and forty minutes to explain it to you. Walking this show slowly is the entire skill.
The fall edition carries different inventory than the January one. Brands come back from summer with lines that did not exist eight months ago, things that began as samples on a garage floor, collabs that read differently in August light than they ever will in a lookbook. If you work in this industry, this is where fourth-quarter decisions get made over a handshake. If you only orbit it, this is where you see what is coming before it lands anywhere else.
Long Beach Convention Center on Ocean Boulevard, registration at agendashow.com. Be there the moment it opens, because the corner tables run out of attention first.

Gaylord Pacific Resort & Conventio…
Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center, 1000 H St, Chula Vista. May 22nd, 2026. Card Party 4 is the trading card game pop-up market that treats the hobby the way it deserves — a real venue, a serious vendor selection, and the specific energy of a room full of people who know exactly what they're looking at.
Card Party is not a casual flea market. The vendors who table here specialize — sealed product, singles, graded cards, vintage sets, and the newer releases that have been moving in the secondary market. Walking the floor is the experience of seeing the full spectrum of what collecting looks like at every level, from the person pulling a specific card for a deck they've been building to the collector sitting on long boxes of raw vintage stock.
The Gaylord Pacific Resort gives the event the setting to match its ambitions — a convention-scale resort venue in Chula Vista, accessible from San Diego and across the South Bay. card.party for the full vendor list and ticket details. If you collect cards of any kind — Pokemon, Magic, sports, vintage — this is the show that covers the entire hobby under one roof. Come with a want list. Leave with more than you planned.

Long Beach Convention Center, 300 …
Agenda Festival Long Beach opens the Long Beach Convention Center to the public on May 30, 2026 — every brand in the skate, surf, and streetwear ecosystem under one roof, for a day that feels more like a cultural moment than a shopping event.
Agenda started as a trade show. It became something else when it opened to the public: a festival where the brands aren't trying to sell you anything because they already know you. The skate community, the surf community, the streetwear collector — they come here because this is where the industry gathers, and being in the room feels different from browsing the same brands online. Drops happen at Agenda that don't happen anywhere else. Limited pieces from small labels sit next to launches from names you already know.
The Long Beach Convention Center has the scale to hold it. Arrive early — the floor gets busy by mid-morning and the brand activations with any kind of queue fill up fast. This is the kind of event that feels like insider access even when it's open to everyone, because the people who show up are the people who care. That's the crowd. That's the room.

There is nothing in Southern California sports quite like standing in the upper grandstand with the Pacific Ocean two miles to the west and understanding, finally, why they built a racetrack right here. July 17, 2026 is Opening Day at Del Mar - the summer meet of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, opening on the third Friday of July with a tradition running since Bing Crosby and Pat O'Brien threw the gates open in 1937. Opening Day is as much fashion show as horse race, the day San Diego County dresses up more completely than any other on the sports calendar. The stretch run comes toward you from the far turn in a way no other racetrack geometry quite replicates. First post is 2pm and the feature races run through late afternoon - bring cash for the mutuel windows, find a spot in the infield or claim a picnic table on the apron, and let the day become its own thing. 'Where the surf meets the turf' is not a marketing line. This is a community event as much as a racing event: groups coordinate outfits, book Turf Club tables months in advance, and treat the whole day as a summer ritual, the crowd running from serious horseplayers in the clubhouse to fashion-forward groups in the infield to families making their annual pilgrimage. 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd in Del Mar. No Coaster service on this date - drive and park on-site or use the shuttle from nearby lots. Arrive early for Opening Day ceremony programming. General admission available; reserved seating and Turf Club access require advance booking.

The alarm goes off before five and you do not hit snooze, because you are not a morning person except on swap meet days, when the math changes and every minute in bed is a minute somebody else spends walking away with the carburetor you have hunted for six months.
Six hundred-plus vendors spread across the stadium grounds, and they have been doing this here since the eighties. Matching-numbers carbs next to crates of weatherstripping next to the guy selling a complete small-block out of a '69 Chevelle that he swears ran when parked. If you know what you are after, it is here somewhere. If you do not, you will leave knowing what you are after next time, and that is the trap, and it works every time.

Fairplex at Pomona, Pomona, CA
Most car shows mix everything together and call the variety a feature. This one refuses, and the refusal is why it looks the way it does.
Roadsters only. Open-body traditional hot rods in the style of the 1930s, 40s and 50s — the shape American car culture keeps returning to. Holding that line for six decades has produced something closer to a living museum than a show field: every car in visual conversation with every other car, no era drift, no exceptions made.
The builds carry weight. Many of these have been in the same family for decades, or represent one person's entire lifetime of work on a single machine. The owners are standing right there, and they will tell you.
The swap meet runs alongside, filling additional lots with parts, memorabilia, tools and vintage automotive goods for builders and collectors.
Fairplex at Pomona. Gates 9 AM both days, ample parking across the fairgrounds, admission at the gate.

Three generations of one family do the same steps in the same parking lot, and the youngest learned them by watching the oldest. Paper lanterns overhead, taiko shaking the warm air, and a dance circle that opens for anyone who wanders close — nobody teaches the bon odori here. You fall in, and within twenty minutes your feet know it.
Obon honors the dead, which is why the evening manages to be celebratory and reverent at once in a way no other summer fair pulls off. The food is the other reason people plan around it: yakisoba, teriyaki, shave ice, mochi. A flea market runs alongside the cultural exhibits and games, and the live taiko lands somewhere in your chest.
Free at the Japanese American Community Center on Branford Street in Pacoima, both evenings from late afternoon until close.
Come at dusk. Bring a blanket, and bring the kid who has never seen your family dance.

Naval Air Station North Island, Co…
Naval Base Coronado becomes the most unlikely racetrack in NASCAR history on June 19–21, 2026 — and that is exactly the point. For the first time ever, an active United States military base will host a NASCAR race weekend, placing the Craftsman Truck Series, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, and the crown jewel NASCAR Cup Series Anduril 250 against a backdrop of aircraft carriers, fighter jets, and the wide blue sprawl of San Diego Bay.
The Coronado Street Course features 16 turns carved through Naval Air Station North Island, offering sightlines no traditional oval can match. Turn 16 sits at the edge of the bay. The grandstands look over the flight deck toward downtown San Diego. This is not a race at an anonymous speedway — it is a race inside a working carrier air base during the peak of summer.
Getting here requires planning. All guests 18 and older must show a government-issued ID to access the federal installation. US citizens need a Real ID-compliant license; foreign nationals need a passport. Vehicles enter through designated checkpoints on Third Street in Coronado. Parking inside the base is limited — the official transportation plan recommends shuttles from the Coronado Ferry Landing and from off-site lots in downtown San Diego.
Sunday grandstands are already sold out. Friday and Saturday tickets remain available through Ticketmaster. General field access on Saturday is still open. If you are going, Friday's truck race is the insider move: shorter crowds, faster access, full speed on the street circuit. The Cup Series Sunday finale is the main event for casual fans, but the Truck Series is where the driving gets interesting.
This is a one-of-a-kind SoCal event. No road course in the country shares a runway with active military aircraft. The inaugural year is the one to catch.

May 30 – May 31, 2026
TBA
San Diego Convention Center, San D…
You know how it feels to watch a drop sell out in seven seconds. Saturday, it's on a table and the price is negotiable.
SneakerCon San Diego 2026 hits the San Diego Convention Center on May 30 — the world's largest sneaker event, and the floor reflects it: tens of thousands of individual pairs from hundreds of sellers, spanning vintage Air Jordans, deadstock SBs, same-week drops, and rare colorways that only move at events like this. The authentication desk runs all day. If you're buying something significant, you get it checked before you walk out.
This is not a retail store. Prices are negotiated on the floor. Condition grades matter and sellers will walk you through theirs if you ask. The San Diego sneaker community turns out for this — expect to run into people you recognize and people you'll know by the end of the day. There's a difference between knowing someone online and meeting them across a table with a pair between you. SneakerCon is where that happens.
Getting there: San Diego Convention Center, 111 W Harbor Drive, downtown San Diego. MTS Trolley — Convention Center station (Blue/Orange lines) is a one-minute walk. Gaslamp Quarter parking structures on 5th and 6th Ave. Tickets required for entry — general admission and VIP at sneakercon.com. May 30, 2026.
The pair exists. You just have to get there first.

The Pickwick Vintage Show at ROW DTLA is one of Los Angeles's most beloved monthly outdoor vintage markets, held at the sprawling 32-acre ROW DTLA complex in the Arts District. More than 40 local vendors set up across the courtyard, selling vintage clothing, accessories, jewelry, and curated lifestyle pieces spanning decades of fashion history.
ROW DTLA's industrial warehouse setting gives the market a distinctive atmosphere — sunlight through open-air corridors, acclaimed restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and a constant stream of shoppers who range from professional stylists to first-time vintage buyers. It is the kind of place where you find a perfect 1970s denim jacket beside a 1990s Japanese streetwear piece.
Parking is free for the first two hours at the ROW DTLA garage. The market runs from 10am to 4pm. Best strategy: arrive at opening if you are hunting specific items; arrive midday if you want the full market experience without the rush. Free admission. Monthly recurring market — this is the May edition. Located in the same complex as Smorgasburg LA.

Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Du…
The same caravan, different city. The Del Mar Fairgrounds, January 10-11, 2026 — two days of taxidermy, antiques, wax sculpture, and the collected strange.
The expo is the original touring showcase built for lovers of the dark, the different, and the beautifully bizarre. Vendors travel coast-to-coast with one-of-a-kind pieces: animal skulls and bones, handcrafted oddities, horror clothing, vintage quack medical devices, funeral collectibles, and artwork that doesn't belong anywhere else. The caliber of curation is serious — this isn't a flea market.
Live sideshow performers take the stage throughout the day. Hands-on specialty classes run alongside the expo floor, including taxidermy and entomology options for those who want to leave with a skill. Advance tickets: 5. Door: 0. Kids 12 and under free. The Del Mar Fairgrounds setting adds an unexpected layer — the same grounds that host the county fair, now running something considerably stranger. Returns annually.

611 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA…
You are not going to find it online. That is the entire reason people keep setting a Saturday alarm and walking a stretch of sidewalk they have already walked a hundred times.
Fairfax is the street that defined California streetwear, and the market that sets up here on alternating Saturdays is dense in a way most vintage markets are not: deadstock, rare denim, band tees that were on somebody's body at the actual show, nineties sportswear, sneakers, accessories. What separates it is the sellers. These are people who know exactly what they have, which means the conversation is half the transaction, and the good pieces do not sit around waiting for you to think about it.
Free to walk in, on Fairfax, with the active Saturday schedule posted online.
If your style came from anywhere other than a mall, this is your Saturday. Bring the friend with the better eye and race them to the racks.

Arts District & various venues, Lo…
Most fashion weeks happen inside one building, on one schedule, for the same few hundred people. This one refuses. It moves the way the city moves — a warehouse in the Arts District one night, a Melrose showroom the next, an after-party somewhere you needed directions to find. That geography is the argument: the designers showing here built their aesthetic in this city instead of importing it, and the clothes read like it. Southern California has been dressing the rest of the world for decades, mostly without credit and mostly through other people's runways. This is the week it shows its own work under its own name, spread across a city rather than folded into one tent. Runway shows, presentations, and the after-events where the real conversations happen, October 12 through 18. Bring the friend who has been sewing in their apartment and telling nobody about it.

Somewhere in a long box in your closet is a resin figure you bought at a show like this — a limited colorway, poured in a batch of fifty, that you will never find again because the artist made it once and moved on. You still remember what you paid. You have never once regretted it. That particular hunt, the one that has nothing to do with investment and everything to do with recognition, is the whole reason this room exists.
DesignerCon has been the center of the designer toy world since 2004, and its Las Vegas edition takes over The Expo at World Market Center this November. The floor is art toys, designer vinyl, limited-run resin, plush, custom sneakers, streetwear and original pop art — sold artist-direct, in small batches, with no mass-market retail anywhere in the building.
What separates it from a comic convention is who is standing behind the table. The person taking your money sculpted the thing you are holding. Booths are stacked with one-off customs and exclusive drops that exist in runs of twenty or thirty, and the floor has a particular rhythm: a slow early crawl while collectors map the aisles, a hard sprint when a drop goes live, then long stretches of artists simply talking to the people who own their work. Live painting happens in the open. Trades happen in the aisles. Nobody asks what anything is worth, because everyone already knows.
If you can name the sculptor of a figure on your shelf, this is worth the flight and the hotel. It is not a show for bargain hunting — prices are artist-set and the grails go fast. It is for people who want the object and the story of the object at the same time. Anyone hunting licensed mass-market merchandise will find almost none of it here, and that absence is the entire point.
The scheduling detail that catches first-timers every year: opening night is not a public day. Friday evening is VIP-only, so a general badge gets you in on Saturday, not Friday, and the people who paid up have already walked the floor before you arrive. Plan around it — the best pieces move in the first ninety minutes of each day, which makes Saturday morning the serious shopping window and Sunday the better day for actually speaking with artists, when the crush has thinned and tables are not three deep. Go in with a short list and a hard budget, because the floor is built to defeat both. Bring a padded bag; resin chips, and nobody wants to explain a cracked grail to airport security.
The art toy scene spent two decades proving that a figure made by one person in a small batch could matter as much as anything with a studio logo on the box, and this is the room where that argument gets settled every year. The hunt does not end when the doors close on Sunday. It just moves to whatever the artist makes next.
November 13–15, 2026. Friday is VIP only, 5–9 PM; Saturday 10 AM–7 PM with doors at 9 AM for VIP; Sunday 10 AM–5 PM. The Expo at World Market Center, 435 S Grand Central Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89106.

Music's biggest night. The night every artist, producer, songwriter, and engineer in the industry stops pretending they don't care about awards and watches to see if the Recording Academy agrees with what they already know in their bones.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place in early February 2027 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles — the Recording Academy's home turf, where the Staples Center renamed itself and the Grammys kept coming back. The format is unchanged and irreplaceable: live performances from the biggest names in music, acceptance speeches that range from tearful to transcendent, and an Album of the Year announcement that will dominate every group chat, comment section, and podcast by Monday morning.
The Grammys are not just an awards show — they are a live concert featuring collaborations that exist only for this one night: artists from different genres sharing a stage, tributes to legends who shaped the industry decades before anyone in the audience was born, and debut performances from artists the Academy is betting will define the next era. The red carpet alone is a cultural event that generates more fashion discourse than most runway shows. The after-parties — particularly the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala — are where the real stories happen, where the industry's power brokers and its newest stars occupy the same room.
Broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+, typically starting at 5:00 PM Pacific. In-person attendance is by invitation, industry allocation, and purchased tickets through the Recording Academy — check grammy.com for ticket lottery information and premium experience packages when announced in late 2026.
You don't have to agree with every winner to feel the weight of the moment when someone hears their name called. The Grammys are the music industry arguing about itself in public — and we all watch because the argument matters. Because the songs matter. Because on this one night, the people who made them get to stand in a room full of their peers and be told: we heard you, and it was extraordinary.

Most conventions rent a building. This one takes a city. Over Labor Day weekend the entire hotel district of downtown Atlanta is absorbed — five host hotels connected by skybridges, tens of thousands of people moving between them at all hours, and a parade down Peachtree Street that closes the road and draws crowds who are not attending at all. Dragon Con is the closest thing American fandom has to a carnival, and the distinction from a trade show is not cosmetic.
Because it is spread across hotels rather than a convention center, the event never has a closing time. Programming runs past three in the morning. There are more than forty separate fan tracks, which means the schedule includes serious literary panels, a robotics track, a puppetry track, several music stages and an entire independent film festival, all running simultaneously. The costuming is on a different level from other conventions — people build for a year — and the skybridges function as continuous informal runways where that work gets seen. It is also famously a drinking convention with a well-developed late-night culture, which is either the appeal or the warning depending on who you are.
Worth it? If you want the most all-encompassing and least corporate large fandom experience in the country, there is nothing else like it and the scale genuinely surprises people. If you want a quiet, structured weekend or you are bringing small children, this is the wrong one — it is loud, crowded, and does not sleep. The honest summary is that Dragon Con is a festival that happens to be about fandom rather than a convention with a party attached.
What to know: host hotel rooms are gone roughly a year in advance and staying on the skybridge network versus off it is the single biggest variable in your weekend. Atlanta in September is hot. The parade is Saturday morning and worth setting an alarm for even if you are not in it. Buy your badge early — the price ladder is steep. And accept that you will miss most of what you wanted to see; everyone does.
It is on this list because a fandom that builds an entire temporary city once a year is a genuine American cultural phenomenon, and knowing it happens changes your sense of the scale of this thing. Dragon Con 2027 begins September 2, 2027 across downtown Atlanta.
