Anaheim Ducks vs. Ottawa Senators
Nov 1, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Daylight saving has just ended and the first genuinely dark evening of the year always lands harder than anyone expects. Five o'clock feels like nine, the apartment feels small, and the instinct is to stay in it. A hockey building is the correct answer to that specific disorientation, because inside one the time of day stops existing entirely. Ottawa visits Anaheim early in the home schedule, which is the part of the season worth catching: nobody is out of the race yet, the lines are still being figured out, and players are trying things in November they will not risk in March. Senators fans are also scarce enough in Orange County that the handful who turn up tend to find each other by the second intermission. Honda Center sits off Katella, the arena the long-time season holders still call the Pond. First puck is at five on Sunday the first.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Nashville Predators
Nov 11, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Mid-November is when the novelty of a new season wears off and a weeknight game stops being an occasion and becomes a habit. That is the better version of being a fan, and it is almost impossible to explain to someone who has only been to a playoff game. Nashville is the opponent, and Predators supporters bring the loudest visiting tradition in the league with them — the catcalls, the chants aimed at the opposing goaltender, the whole apparatus imported from Broadway. A few hundred of them in a half-full Orange County building is more than enough to be heard, and the home crowd tends to rise to it rather than sulk. Wednesday nights also mean the concourse lines move and you can actually get a seat at the bar behind section 220. The Predators also play a heavy, grinding style that makes for an honest hockey game rather than a highlight reel, and honest is underrated in November. Faceoff is at seven on the eleventh, off Katella in Anaheim.

Anaheim Ducks vs. New York Islanders
Nov 14, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

There is one night a week when a hockey arena is at full volume from the anthem onward, and it is this one. Saturday brings the casual crowd, the kids, the groups of twelve in matching jerseys, and the building sounds completely different than it does on a Tuesday — less expert, much louder, considerably more fun if you came for the atmosphere rather than the systems. The Islanders are in town, and their support is a particular curiosity in Southern California: transplanted Long Islanders who have been here twenty years and still say the name like a hometown. Expect a pocket of them somewhere in the upper bowl doing a chant nobody around them recognizes. The Islanders play a defensive structure that frustrates teams far better than their record suggests, so the game itself rarely matches the mood of the room, which is part of the charm. Seven o'clock on Saturday the fourteenth at Honda Center, and the lots off Katella fill early on a weekend, so leave margin.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames
Nov 15, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

The second half of a hockey weekend has a texture the first half does not. Everybody in the building was somewhere else last night, the players are on the back end of consecutive games, and the whole thing runs slightly tired and slightly loose — which produces either a sloppy game or a wildly entertaining one, and rarely anything between. Calgary is the visitor, and the Flames travel with the kind of support that treats a November road trip to Southern California as a holiday: expect sunburn and replica jerseys in equal measure, bought for weather that does not exist in Alberta. The five o'clock start is kind to anyone who has to function on Monday. Calgary and Anaheim have also met in the playoffs often enough that the older fans in both sections carry specific grudges, which surfaces around the second period whether the standings justify it or not. Honda Center, Sunday the fifteenth, with the puck down at five and the 57 manageable in both directions on a weekend evening.

Anaheim Ducks vs. San Jose Sharks
Nov 25, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

The 6:30 faceoff is the tell that somebody scheduled this one around Thanksgiving travel. It is the Wednesday before the holiday, half the county is at the airport or on the 5, and the people who choose a hockey game instead have made a quietly excellent decision — the roads around Katella are emptier than any other November night and the building has the relaxed feeling of a room where nobody has anywhere to be in the morning. San Jose is the opponent, which still carries an edge for anyone who remembers the 2009 playoff series, even though almost nobody on either roster was alive in the league for it. California hockey rivalries are stranger and more durable than outsiders assume. Bring somebody who thinks hockey is incomprehensible: a 6:30 start and a half-empty midweek building is the easiest possible first game, because you can actually follow the puck and hear the hits. Puck drops half an hour after six, the night before the night before Thanksgiving.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Los Angeles Kings
Nov 27, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Every transplant city invents its rivalries, and this is the one Southern California actually earned. The Freeway Face-Off is Ducks and Kings, forty-five minutes of the 5 between two buildings, and it splits households rather than cities — the real version of this is an argument between a brother in Anaheim and a sister in El Segundo that has been running since the nineties. A one o'clock start on the Friday after Thanksgiving makes it stranger and better: daylight hockey, a building full of people avoiding shopping and relatives in roughly equal measure, and a crowd that is genuinely close to half and half, which almost never happens at a home game. An afternoon game also means the whole thing is over by four, which leaves the evening intact for whatever the holiday weekend still demands of you. Black Friday afternoon, first puck at one, Honda Center off Katella. Wear the colors you actually mean, because somebody will check.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Minnesota Wild
Dec 1, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

A Tuesday in December has nothing to recommend it. Nothing is on, nothing is happening, and the evening tends to get spent indoors deciding not to do anything. Hockey fixes this better than any other sport, because a hockey crowd on a weeknight is a different animal from a weekend one. It is the people who actually follow the team, sitting closer together because the building is not full, and you can pick out individual voices from across the ice — someone four sections over yelling at a defenseman by his first name. The Ducks host Minnesota at Honda Center, which the people who have held seats since the nineties still call the Pond, and the Wild are the kind of opponent that produces a tight, low-scoring, genuinely good game instead of a shootout. Both teams check hard and neither cheats for offense, so the hour goes quickly and the third period actually means something. Puck drops at 7. Katella Avenue, Anaheim, Tuesday the first of December.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Winnipeg Jets
Dec 6, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Sunday at five is the worst hour of the week. Late enough that the weekend is clearly over, early enough that there is still time to sit and feel bad about it. An afternoon-into-evening hockey game lands exactly in that hole and fills it. Winnipeg comes to Anaheim, and Jets fans are worth the ticket on their own — a small, loud, travelling contingent that shows up in white inside a building full of orange and makes itself heard every single time their team touches the puck. They are also the rare visiting support that knows every word of its own goal song, which is disorienting the first time you hear it in Orange County. The five o'clock start is the giveaway that this one is built for people who have somewhere to be Monday morning: you are out of Honda Center and onto Katella by half past seven, which is the whole difference between a good Sunday and a ruined Monday.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks
Dec 16, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

The six o'clock puck drop is the detail that tells you who this game is for. Most weeknight hockey starts at seven, which means anyone with a real commute eats dinner in the car and misses the first period entirely. An hour earlier changes the shape of the whole evening — you arrive in daylight, you are home before eleven, and the building fills properly instead of trickling in through the second period. The Ducks host Vancouver, a matchup that has gotten considerably more interesting as both rosters turned young and fast at the same time. Canucks supporters also travel in numbers that surprise anyone who has not been to one of these; a meaningful slice of the lower bowl will be in blue and green and will not be quiet about it. Bring a layer: the seats behind the benches at Honda Center run genuinely cold, which first-timers never believe until the second intermission. Doors well before the six o'clock faceoff on Wednesday the sixteenth.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche
Dec 27, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

The stretch between Christmas and New Year's is the only week of the year with no assigned purpose. Nobody is sure what day it is, the fridge is full of things nobody wants, and everyone is politely waiting for ordinary life to start again. A five o'clock hockey game is a genuinely good answer to that week. Colorado is in town, which matters more than the standings suggest: the Avalanche are usually among the fastest teams anyone will watch all season, and seeing them from the lower bowl is the clearest way to understand how much quicker the professional version of this sport is than the one that arrives through a television. Speed does not survive the broadcast. Holiday Sunday also makes the trip painless — the 57 is empty and parking behaves for once, which on any other date it does not. Ducks and Avalanche on the twenty-seventh, a Sunday that otherwise has nothing in it, with the first puck at five.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Dec 29, 2026 Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Toronto coming to town is not really a home game, and everybody in the building knows it before the anthem finishes. Leafs supporters are the most displaced fanbase in hockey and Southern California is quietly full of them — Canadians who moved for work, for weather, for a person — and they surface for this one night a year, wearing jerseys with names on the back from three decades of near-misses. Expect a lower bowl that is a third blue, a roar on the opening faceoff that is not for the home team, and the specific energy of a crowd arguing with itself for three full periods. For a Ducks fan that is its own entertainment, and the home support gets louder precisely because it has to. For anyone who grew up somewhere cold it is closer to a reunion with several thousand strangers who sound like home. Seven o'clock at Honda Center, Tuesday, December 29.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Minnesota Wild
Jan 5, 2027 ✨ New Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Tuesday in the first full week of January is the longest day on the calendar. Everything has restarted, nothing has momentum yet, it is dark at five, and the next actual holiday is a rumour somewhere in February. The team visiting calls its home the State of Hockey, without irony, on official signage. They are arriving in a county where children learn to skate in a shopping-mall rink next to a food court, and where the sport took hold anyway, hard, over about three decades. Watching those two versions of the same game meet in Orange County is quietly funnier than anybody involved will admit. Seven o'clock on Katella, a short walk from the ballpark, in a building that empties out onto a freeway ramp fast enough to get you home at a reasonable hour. For the one who keeps saying they would go to a game if somebody just picked a date. Honda Center, Tuesday the 5th.

Anaheim Ducks vs. New York Rangers
Jan 12, 2027 ✨ New Honda Center, 2695 E Katella Ave, …

Two nights running, the same visiting club drives the forty miles down the 5 and does the whole thing again in a different county. The schedule does this to East Coast teams every winter and people here treat it as a small gift: one trip west, two chances to catch them. If you missed the downtown game, this is the version with better parking and a much shorter walk from the car. Orange County's crowd is a different animal as well, less industry and more families and seats handed down through a household, the kind of room where the man behind you has occupied that exact chair since the nineties and holds detailed opinions about the power play that he will share with you unprompted. Seven o'clock, a Tuesday, deep in the flat part of the year. For the friend who claims they only like sports in person. They happen to be right. 2695 E Katella Ave, Anaheim.

New York Comic Con 2026 — New York, NY
Today · Oct 8 – Oct 11 From $45 (1-day) Jacob K. Javits Convention Center,…

The Javits Center in October, a hundred thousand people in four days, every niche of pop culture in one building — and the streets of Hell's Kitchen turning into something you've never seen on a regular Tuesday. The Javits Center fills with a programmatic density that rewards strategic planning. Main stage panels feature talent from the year's biggest genre properties. The show floor covers hundreds of thousands of square feet of publishers, studios, collectibles vendors, and artist booths. Artist Alley at NYCC skews heavily toward comics — the original fanbase — alongside anime, gaming, and TV, giving it a different character than conventions that have shifted more entirely toward film and streaming. The autograph and photo op schedule is extensive; tickets for specific sessions go on sale in advance and sell out. New York Comic Con in 2026 is celebrating twenty years, and the Coney Island theme suggests organizers are going big on identity and atmosphere. The anniversary edition will likely bring programming and exclusives designed for the occasion. If you have been considering NYCC as a destination event, this is the year to go. The East Coast advantage: NYCC is adjacent to one of the world's great cities. The convention ends at 7pm and New York starts. Restaurants, bars, and attractions are all accessible from the Javits Center. Hotel inventory near the venue is limited; book early and consider Hudson Yards or Hell's Kitchen options within walking distance. Tickets go on sale in June with a Superfan Presale for Popverse members opening before general on-sale. Javits Center, New York City. October 8–11, 2026. New York Comic Con was founded in 2006 and reached 250,000 attendance within its first decade. The 20th anniversary edition in 2026 with the Coney Island theme signals that the organizers are treating this as a milestone year — expect expanded programming, anniversary exclusives, and a level of production that reflects two decades of iteration. If you have been waiting for the right year to make NYCC a destination trip, the 20th anniversary is the obvious choice.

Los Angeles Pinball League — Monthly Tournament

Somewhere in this city tonight there is a back room where the pinball never stopped — machines everyone assumed died with the arcades, lined up, lit up, and played for blood by people who know each ruleset cold. You thought it was nostalgia. They kept it a sport. Once a month the league runs a real tournament: matchplay, a new opponent and a random machine every round, points stacking across the night. It is IFPA-sanctioned, but that is not why the regulars come. A good table is the most honest machine there is. It does not care who you are, only whether you can read the ball. Here is what outsiders never expect: this crowd wants you to get good. Show up knowing only how to keep a ball alive and someone ranked will lean over between rounds and show you where the safe nudge is, when to let it drain on purpose. Venues rotate. Check the league's Facebook group and the IFPA calendar for this month's location. All-ages at most stops, 21+ at the bars.

Every region sends its dark horses, and most of them go home in the first week. That is what makes the opening stage the most nervous, least predictable stretch of the whole tournament. The Play-In Stage is where teams that did not walk in with a guaranteed bracket spot have to earn one, on foreign soil, against opponents they have only ever studied on video. Nothing is safe and nobody is comfortable. Upsets that reshape the entire championship happen here, in front of a few hundred people, before the broadcast audience has fully tuned in. LoL World Championship 2026
In 7 days · Oct 15 – Nov 13 Various Venues — LA, Allen TX, New…

Seventy-three million people watched the last final on a screen. A few thousand got to feel the room move — and that gap is the entire reason to be in the building. The 2026 League of Legends World Championship runs October 15 through November 14 across three American cities, nineteen teams deep, and for the first time in the tournament's history the trophy gets lifted on the East Coast. Each stage is a different sport. The Play-Ins open in Los Angeles inside Riot's own studio arena, a room tight enough that crowd noise reaches the stage and close enough to watch a player's posture change when a fight goes wrong. Allen, Texas is where the field gets cut — teams grinding through a Swiss format for eight knockout seats, afternoon after afternoon, in the least glamorous and most brutal stretch of the whole run. Brooklyn is the coronation. There is a moment in a Worlds match where a team's composition either clicks or comes apart, and the arena registers it a half-second before the casters do; you feel the shift in the crowd before you understand what happened on the map. This is not for someone who needs the broadcast overlay to follow a teamfight. The crowd on a bracket night knows exactly what it is watching, and that shared literacy is the thing a stream cannot hand you — when an arena gasps at a ward placement, you are either in on it or you are lost. If you have put a thousand hours into this game and never once sat in a room full of people who did the same, it is worth the trip. If you follow it casually, watch the broadcast and keep the money; the ticket buys proximity, not understanding. What people get wrong: they treat it as one event with one ticket. Sessions are sold per date, and inventory is not identical across them — the Texas dates behave nothing like the final. When general sale opened for Brooklyn, roughly 430 seats appeared and were gone within minutes, then surfaced on resale as high as 3,200 dollars against a 120-to-350 face. Every date is mobile entry only; your phone is the ticket. Bags are capped small (under 4.5 by 8.5 inches) or medium clear (under 14 by 14 by 6), and interchangeable-lens cameras, tripods, gimbals and selfie sticks are all refused at the door. Phones are fine for personal recording. Venue rules differ between Texas and Brooklyn, so read each one separately rather than assuming. Worlds is the closest thing competitive gaming has to a national holiday, and 2026 is the year it stopped being a West Coast story. Play-Ins in Los Angeles October 15–18; Swiss Stage and the quarterfinals and semifinals at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, October 23 through November 8; the final at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14. Tickets through Ticketmaster via lolesports.com. Whichever city you pick, you will spend the rest of the season arguing about what you saw with people who were not there.

Super Bowl LXI 2027 — Inglewood, CA
Feb 14, 2027 0 SoFi Stadium, 1001 Stadium Drive, …

The Super Bowl has come to Los Angeles before. It has never come to SoFi. That changes February 7, 2027 — at the half-billion-dollar stadium that opened in 2020 and changed what a modern NFL venue can look like: translucent canopy, open-air California design, Hollywood Park campus surrounding it. What Super Bowl week in Los Angeles looks and feels like is unlike any other sporting event on the calendar. The week before the game, Radio Row draws every media personality with a microphone. The NFL Experience fan festival opens to the public at the Convention Center. Celebrity parties are announced and cancelled and announced again. The halftime show rehearsals happen under tight security at the stadium while the surrounding streets fill with brand activations, pop-ups, and spontaneous gatherings of fans who couldn't get tickets but wanted to be near the thing. Los Angeles absorbs the Super Bowl differently than Nashville or Minneapolis — the entertainment industry and sports culture overlap here in a way that produces genuine energy rather than manufactured excitement. Is the Super Bowl worth attending in person? If you have the means and the access, the answer is yes, but the experience is as much about the week as the game. Super Bowl tickets are among the most expensive in sports, and the seat you occupy at game time may matter less than the four days of surrounding events, parties, and city energy that build toward kickoff. For the majority of people who will experience Super Bowl LXI from Los Angeles without attending the game, the city itself becomes a venue. Watch parties at venues across SoCal will be among the most concentrated social events of the year. What to know: Tickets sell through the NFL and Ticketmaster — secondary market prices will be extreme. The SoFi Stadium campus includes a performance venue (YouTube Theater), a casino (Inglewood), and hotel development in progress; the entertainment zone around the stadium is walkable and dense. Metro's C Line (Green) stops at Hawthorne/Lennox, about a 20-minute walk from SoFi. Parking is limited and expensive; transit from LAX is the recommended option for most attendees. The week's best experiences are often free — Radio Row, fan zones, and the energy of the city. Super Bowl LXI matters for one reason beyond the game itself: it is the largest single-day American cultural event, and in 2027 it comes to Los Angeles. The convergence of the NFL, Hollywood, the music industry (halftime show), and the national media in one city for one weekend creates a cultural moment that extends far beyond the game. Knowing about it, knowing what week to plan around it, knowing the venue and the city — that is the preparation that turns an ordinary February into the right February.
