PICNIC WITH TAEMIN
In 3 days · Oct 10 bobaTEAque, 1960 N Tustin St, Oran…

Some of you have been watching the same person work since he was twelve years old. That is a strange sentence to say out loud at a normal dinner table, so you don't say it, and the length of time just sits there unshared — a decade and a half of somebody else's career quietly braided into your own. A boba shop on North Tustin is turning itself into a picnic about exactly that. Themed photo spots, activities, vendor tables, and a donation drive attached, timed to his LiMiNaL tour stop so the people who are going and the people who could not get tickets end up in the same room anyway. That second group is the one this is really for. The vendors applied back in September and got cut off on the 15th, which tells you how far ahead people were planning to sit in a strip-mall cafe in Orange on a Saturday afternoon. October 10, 1 to 6 PM, bobaTEAque. You already know who you would send this to, and you already know she will say she is busy and then go.

Dark Moon Halloween Party
In 10 days · Oct 17 bobaTEAque, 1960 N Tustin St, Oran…

Costumes are easier when the reference is one only about four hundred people will catch. No explaining, no polite nodding from someone who thinks you are a generic vampire — just the one person across the room who sees it, points, and makes a noise. That is the whole appeal of a small themed room in October, and it is why this one has a narrow door on purpose: it is built around the Dark Moon story and the two groups tied to it, so everyone walking in already shares the reference before a word is said. Cupsleeves, vendor goodies, raffles with real prizes, themed activities, community merch, costumes encouraged. It runs Saturday, October 17, 1 to 6 PM at bobaTEAque on North Tustin in Orange. Worth knowing there is a second cupsleeve at this same shop the week before, which tells you the place has essentially become the county's fandom living room. Whoever you know who has been quietly assembling a costume nobody at work will understand — this is the room where they will be understood.

Monsta X Nexus in LA - Post-Concert Cupsleeve Event
Nov 1, 2026 bobaTEAque, 1960 N Tustin St, Oran…

The worst part of a concert is the parking lot afterward. Everyone scatters, the ringing in your ears starts to fade, and the thing you just lived through begins converting into a memory you will mostly carry alone. The next morning is worse. Somebody in Orange figured out the obvious fix and booked the day after: a boba shop, noon to five, full of people who were in that same building and want to go through it out loud, minute by minute, arguing about the setlist and which song broke the room. Fan vendor booths along the wall, giveaways, and no requirement that you bought a ticket to anything — walk-ins are welcome, which quietly means the people who could not go are invited to hear about it from the people who did. That is a generous way to run a room. Sunday, November 1, bobaTEAque on North Tustin. If you went, you already know who you need to sit across from.

Let's KCON with &team and TXT Day 1
Aug 8, 2026 Free (RSVP) bobaTEAque, 1960 N Tustin St, Oran…

Every fandom knows the feeling: the group chat lights up, someone's made custom cup sleeves and photocards, and suddenly a boba shop becomes the only place in the world you want to be. This KCON-weekend cupsleeve gathering is for the &team and TXT crowd — MOA and Luvity showing up in their best fits, trading photocards, lining up for the themed drink, and losing it together over the comeback. There's cake, there's a fan-made banner, there's the specific joy of being in a room where nobody has to explain why you care this much. Saturday, August 8, 2026, afternoon drop-in, at bobaTEAque in Orange. Come for the free cup sleeve while they last, bring your binder, and spend a KCON pre-game with the only people who get it. Tag the mutual you're dragging along.

While you are looking Different scene, same night out.

Death From Above 1979 - Private Lives Tour
In 3 days · Oct 10 $54+ The Observatory North Park, 2891 U…

Two guys, a bass, and a drum kit, producing more sonic violence than most bands manage with six people — that has always been the miracle and the joke of this band at the same time. It is dance music for people who want to break something. Punk swagger welded to a groove you cannot physically stand still through, and played live it stops being a genre and becomes an event happening to your body. Expect a pit. Expect the low end parked in your chest for the whole set. Expect to sound like a different person in the morning. The Observatory in North Park is built for exactly this: a room made for sweaty, ears-ringing communion, all ages, doors at 7 and music at 8. This is the show you go to when you need to shake something loose. Afterward you stand outside with strangers who feel exactly as alive as you do, and nobody wants to be the first to leave.

Protomartyr, Accessory
In 13 days · Oct 20 Casbah, 2501 Kettner Blvd, San Die…

One of the sharpest lyricists working in American rock is a man who mostly talks rather than sings, and he is doing it in a two-hundred-capacity room on a Tuesday night in San Diego. The delivery is the whole thing. He speaks over the band like somebody arguing with a television, and the band plays tense, wiry post-punk underneath that never quite resolves, so the songs stay clenched for their full length. The subject is almost always the Midwest — decay, institutional rot, the specific humiliations of a place being managed into decline by people who do not live there. It should be miserable. It is somehow very funny, which is the part recordings never fully capture. Accessory opens. Doors at seven, on stage at eight. October 20, Casbah, 2501 Kettner Blvd. Bring the friend who reads the lyrics before the second listen. The post-punk rooms in this city are small, loyal, and booked months ahead by people who never explain themselves to anyone.

Día de los Muertos Family Day | Free with RSVP
Oct 25, 2026 Free LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, 501 N…

The people you have lost do not come up much in ordinary conversation, and that silence is treated as maturity rather than as the strange arrangement it actually is. This holiday takes the opposite position. You build a table, you put their photograph on it, you cook the thing they liked, and you say their name out loud in front of other people who are doing the same. The community ofrenda here is the part that catches first-timers off guard — it is not a display, it is a place you are invited to add to, which means standing in front of strangers' grandmothers and then adding your own. Oaxacan dance, a procession, workshops in the garden, tamales and elotes from vendors. Free, with RSVP recommended and walk-ins taken as capacity allows. Sunday October 25, from noon, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, 501 N Main St. Bring the relative who remembers them better than you do. The altars go up across this county for a full week on either side of this, in parks and plazas and front yards, and most of them nobody advertises at all.

CLUB NEVERMORE - Halloween
Oct 30, 2026 $5 RSVP / $10 door The Monty Bar, 1222 W 7th St, Los …

Halloween in Los Angeles is a competition nobody admits to entering, and the costume you have been quietly assembling since August deserves a room that will actually read it. Downtown, on the Friday before the holiday, a bar on West 7th gives it one. Five dollars if you RSVP and ten if you turn up cold, and the gap between those two numbers is the only planning this requires. The crowd here does not do sexy-nurse Halloween, it does the obscure reference that three people will catch, and those three people will find you before midnight. Doors at eight running to two, so there is time for the room to fill, turn over, and reach the hour where the floor is sweating and the DJ has stopped caring about clean transitions. The Monty is small enough that a genuinely good costume becomes a minor local event. Dress for the people who will get it. They are already on their way.

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 — Halloween Night
Oct 31, 2026 Disney California Adventure, 1313 …

The other nights are rehearsals, and everybody involved knows it. The park knows it. The veterans who go multiple nights a season know it. The ticket price on the last one says it out loud. On actual Halloween the party and the holiday finally line up. The Headless Horseman rides through a park on the one night of the year the calendar agrees with him. Madame Leota presides over a street seance while the rest of the country is answering the door with a bowl of candy. The Sanderson Sisters materialize on the date they are owed. The atmosphere the park has been building since late summer finally has a real Halloween to meet, and the Treat Trails run right up to the end of it. California Adventure in Anaheim, a separate ticket from park admission, the party running late into the night. This date goes first every year. Decide now who you are going with.

Brijean, Colloboh
Oct 31 – Nov 1, 2026 $16 Camille's at The Bellwether, 3335 …

Halloween in Los Angeles sorts everyone into two camps by about nine p.m. One camp wants a haunted maze and a scream. The other just wants to dance somewhere good, in a costume, without queueing behind a thousand people in the same store-bought outfit. Brijean is Brijean Murphy on congas and voice with Doug Stuart producing — she has played percussion behind Mitski, Poolside and Toro y Moi, and the project is what happens when a percussionist gets to lead. Disco, nineties house, a real hand on the drums rather than a loop. Colloboh plays too. It is billed as a DJ set, which in their hands means the percussion still shows up. Camille's is the smaller room at The Bellwether, west of downtown, and it is the correct size for this: a real dancefloor instead of a spectacle. Saturday, October 31. Nine p.m. Costumes obviously. The good Halloween party is always the one somebody had to tell you about.
